FC, SI and TA are important factors influencing telephysiotherapy acceptance among older adults. This study provides several useful recommendations based on the findings to enhance the use of telephysiotherapy among older adults.
PURPOSE: This study examined the role of trust, technology anxiety (TA), social influence (SI) and facilitating condition (FC) in shaping the acceptance of telephysiotherapy among older adults.
METHODS: In this study, a research model integrating trust, FC, TA and SI into the technology acceptance model was created to elucidate telephysiotherapy acceptance among older adults. A questionnaire survey was conducted for data collection from 398 older adults aged 60 years or above. The data analysis was conducted with partial least squares-structural equation modelling.
RESULTS: Results showed that FC and SI positively influenced perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU) and trust, whereas TA negatively influenced PEOU and PU. In addition, trust positively influenced attitude towards and behavioural intention to use telephysiotherapy.
CONCLUSION: FC, SI and TA are important factors influencing telephysiotherapy acceptance among older adults. This study provides several useful recommendations based on the findings to enhance the use of telephysiotherapy among older adults.
