In-vehicle infotainment system (IVIS) could offer communications and entertainment services for drivers and passengers. Empowered by the autonomous driving systems, intelligent assisted driving (IAD) becomes an important vehicular application. Based on interaction of person-affect-cognition-execution model, we conduct partial least squares structural equation modeling and explore the factors that affect the intention to use (INT) IVIS and reveal effect on problematic usage (PU) behivior in the model of IAD among 390 Chinese drivers. Attitude, perceived safety, distraction perception, subjective norms and intelligent assisted driving habits (IADH) have direct/indirect impacts on INT, which ultimately has positive effects on PU. Indirect path between IADH and PU exists, whereas driving skills has no direct effects on ATT and INT. We find the existence of problematic usage of IVIS when using IAD, which provides some insights for stakeholders and contributes to improve road safety with the advancement of autonomous driving systems and IVIS.
