This lecture’s focus was on issues related to ways in which the field of physical education, and the people operating within it, (un)intentionally marginalize disabled people implicitly, while stating otherwise explicitly, largely in the name of inclusion. The author introduced and spotlighted critical issues that challenge some commonly accepted beliefs and practices about physical education for disabled people, to (hopefully) foster new thought on how the field can move forward. To do so, the author shared three “perhaps’s” that signify thoughts and ideas about why physical education for disabled people exists in the way that it does, without attempting to communicate concrete, inflexible answers to questions that are too complex for concrete, inflexible responses.
