The Fast Neutron Effective Removal Cross-section (FNERCs) software is a newly developed computer program designed to assess fast neutron shielding by calculating the macroscopic fast neutron effective removal cross section \SSigmaR (in inverse centimeters). This software incorporates a revised mathematical model and three built-in databases constructed from the latest published nuclear cross-section libraries: Evaluated Nuclear Data File (ENDF)/B-VIII.0 (2018), TALYS-based Evaluated Nuclear Data Library (TENDL) (2019), and ENDF/B-VIII.1 (2024). The accuracy and precision of the FNERCs results have been statistically verified and validated using experimentally measured macroscopic effective removal cross-section ΣR values for 30 different shielding samples from the literature. Additionally, the results were compared with those from the MRCsC and NXCOM software programs for further statistical assessment. The study demonstrates that FNERCs software provides more accurate and precise results when compared with experimental data and the other two programs, confirming its validity for fast neutron shielding assessment.
