How Do Professional Nurses Practice Happiness in the Unstable Work Environment? Qualitative Inquiry.

This study explores how professional nurses practice happiness in the unstable environment of Uganda's public hospitals. The study adopted an exploratory qualitative methodology using data collected through an open-ended instrument. Utilizing the qualitative data analysis software QSR NVivo 9, the data were analyzed following Gioia's methodology. Verbatim text was used to explain the emergent themes. The study findings show that to successfully perform happiness practices, public hospital managers in Uganda engage, set positive goals, and put in place meaningful duties. The practices undertaken include socializing, saving lives, shift work, job fit, good working conditions, having a career, and calling. In future studies, it would be valuable to use longitudinal observations and experiments of the actual happiness practices. With the CAS of the dynamic environment, HR managers, hospital managers, and senior professional nurses can help health employees update their deep sense of purpose, and care delivery. It could help professional nurses and public hospitals address major happiness practices. The study produces a pioneering result on how professional nurses practice happiness in unstable work environments.
