原始摘要(英文原文)· Original abstract
Many women may not know they are women partners of men who have sex with men (WPMSM) until a crisis occurs, such as an unexpected discovery of their partner's same-sex activity. WPMSM have distinct and intersectional care needs; however, they remain an often-invisible population, facing barriers to appropriate service provision that can negatively impact their health and wellbeing. Australian-specific policies, procedures, and healthcare worker training are needed to formally and explicitly recognise the health needs of WPMSM. This includes highlighting potential sexually transmitted infections/HIV risk, and strengthening provider awareness and responses. Increasing recognition of WPMSM can reduce the impacts of isolation, stigma and poor health. Our commentary summarises the dominant health and wellbeing needs affecting Australian WPMSM with key considerations that are critical for improving healthcare responses, psychosocial support and public health policy recognition.
