The aim of this study was to explore the role of aesthetic and philosophical appreciation of modern music among students in the context of digitalization. In total, 650 students from 6 Chinese educational institutions participated in the study. The study is grounded in two theoretical frameworks: the praxial philosophy of music education, which links musical understanding to the practice of music-making, and aesthetic experience theory, which conceptualizes the perception of art. Using random sampling, students were divided into 6 control and 6 experimental groups. Learning effectiveness was assessed through a t-test and questionnaire analysis. The experiment showed that the long-term and regular use of digital technologies led to increased levels of academic achievement in the experimental groups (by more than 30 points compared to the initial results). Additionally, 78% of students acknowledged that interaction with digital platforms broadened their musical horizons, allowing them to explore new styles, genres, and techniques (compared to 39% in the control group). Overall, students in the experimental groups who used the VRhythm and Soundtrap platforms demonstrated higher success rates and more positive attitudes toward digital technologies.
