Silver nanoplates (AgPLs) enabled efficient near-infrared (NIR) photoresponse in all-solid-state p-type plasmon-induced charge separation (PICS) cells. Changing the shape of silver nanoparticles from spherical to triangular plates results in a 15.7-fold higher NIR photocurrent. The results demonstrate broadband light harvesting and reveal the critical roles of semiconductor conductivity and interfacial recombination in determining device performance.
