Photoirradiation of carbon nitride powders in aerated water promotes self-photocatalytic oxidation of amino groups into hydroxyl groups, creating a negatively charged surface. The obtained powder promotes enhanced adsorption of cationic dyes and efficient photocatalytic degradation.
