Nanoparticles generated in situ from a molecular precatalyst during a Suzuki reaction were found to adhere to insoluble reaction components. The characterization and distribution of the nanoparticles in the reaction environment are described. The reagent-supported nanoparticles isolated from the reaction mixture can serve as the precatalyst in future reactions.
