A rational Victoria pure blue (VPB)-based in situ generated template regulatory strategy was reported for synthesizing monodispersed hollow silica (mhSiO2), utilizing fluosilicic acid (FSA) as the silicon source and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) as a dispersant. The steric stabilization provided by PVP prevents the aggregation of VPB templates, thereby enabling the precise structural modulation of mhSiO2.
