Intensity ratio between red Eu( iii ) emission and the yellowish-green emission of dicyanidoiridates( iii ) bearing ( R , R )-2-phenyl-4,5-pinenopyridine is a tool for optical thermometry, an alternative to the application of two different 4f metal ions.
