Patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) are characterized by a high incidence of arterial and venous thrombosis (AT, VT). Recent studies have reported that thrombotic events occurring after essential thrombocythemia (ET) or polycythemia vera (PV) diagnosis may play a role in the risk of mortality, disease progression and occurrence of second cancer (SC) during the follow-up [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 ].
