This community-based participatory action research study employed interpretative phenomenological analysis to investigate how 11 nonbinary Black womxn experienced and understood their gender expression in relation to their gendered-racial identity. Researchers used purposive sampling and semistructured qualitative interviews to elicit participants' responses to the following research inquiry: "How does being a nonbinary Black womxn manifest within your gender expression?" Participant responses informed three overarching themes regarding nonbinary Black womxn gender expression: (a) the brilliance and beauty of Black hair, (b) a passion for fashion culture and clothing, and (c) saying it with my chest-affirming communication.
