INTRODUCTION: Information and communication technologies are rapidly integrating into everyday life and work processes. Nowadays, without them, innovations, human development, and business growth are impossible. At the same time, this integration increases the likelihood of negative consequences for employees, particularly technostress and techno-overload, as one of its creators. THE AIM: Based on the Job Demands-Resources Theory and the Social Exchange Theory, this research examines the role of techno-overload in relation to employee job insecurity, turnover intention, and occupation insecurity among Lithuanian employees. METHOD: The cross-sectional study sample involved 754 employees from state and private organizations, with 54.8% female representation. The average age of participants was 41.9 years (SD = 12.06). The survey was conducted using Computer-Assisted Telephone and Web Interviewing. Descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, and structural equation modeling were applied for data analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Techno-overload was positively associated with employees' job and occupation insecurity. Job insecurity mediated the relationships between techno-overload and both turnover intention and occupation insecurity. The results complement research on the links between techno-overload and employee insecurity in the labor market, reveal the role of job insecurity in the relationships between techno-overload and employee outcomes, and the value of more comprehensive studies of occupation insecurity-an important construct in employment research. Research limitations, theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
