Digital transformation and the streamlining of government structures are instrumental strategies for boosting the operational efficiency of administrative units at both the national and local levels. This article describes a dataset investigating the links between digital literacy, digital competence, public service motivation, and performance outcomes among local civil servants in the post-amalgamation (July 2025) Vietnamese public sector. The dataset comprises 380 responses from an online survey, spanning Vietnam's six socio-economic regions, with all scales demonstrating acceptable reliability and construct validity. This dataset is beneficial for practitioners and scholars to gain insights into personnel relevant to digital skills, motivation and performance outcomes within Vietnam's public sector digitalization and administrative streamlining.
