A cobalt-catalyzed enantioselective annulative dienylation of prochiral diarylmethyl amines with allenyl carbinol acetates via desymmetrization is reported. The method affords valuable C1-chiral 3-styryl-1,2-dihydroisoquinolines in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities. It is operationally simple and scalable, exhibits broad substrate generality, and is also effective for accessing P-stereogenic cyclic phosphinamides.
