Dual Photoredox/Nickel-Catalyzed Atroposelective C–N Coupling with Carbazoles and Indoles as <i>N</i> -Nucleophiles

Transition metal-catalyzed atroposelective C(sp 2 )–N coupling efficiently constructs valuable (hetero)biaryl scaffolds. However, nickel-catalyzed variants remain underdeveloped, and the use of carbazoles or indoles as N -nucleophiles in such couplings has not been explored. Addressing this, we report a photoredox/Ni-cocatalyzed atroposelective C(sp 2 )–N cross-coupling with carbazoles and indoles. This work establishes the first highly enantioselective metallaphotoredox C(sp 2 )–N bond formation, providing a sustainable route to valuable N -heterobiaryl atropisomers.
