The photocatalytic reduction of CO 2 into valuable chemical fuels represents a promising approach to addressing global energy demands and climate change. In this study, InVO 4 -based catalysts were synthesized, and their CO 2 reduction performance was evaluated in a solid–gas phase system. The InVO 4 hollow microspheres demonstrated significantly higher average production rates of CO and CH 4 compared to the InVO 4 solid microsphere and InVO 4 SSR. The superior activity stems from the hollow structure, which enhances CO 2 adsorption and light harvesting via internal scattering. Its shell of tightly packed nanoparticles further facilitates charge transfer and suppresses recombination, collectively increasing electron availability and accelerating CO 2 reduction kinetics.
