Sulfur-containing amino acids play a crucial role in living organisms. Herein, we show a copper-catalyzed three-component reaction of glycine derivatives with alkenes and aryl disulfides for the synthesis of complex sulfur-containing amino acids. Remarkably, this protocol also demonstrates potential applications in late-stage site-selective modifications of glycine residues in short peptides.
