The construction of C(sp 3 )–C(sp 3 ) bonds represents a fundamental and ongoing challenge in synthetic chemistry. Electrochemistry, which employs electric current as a traceless redox agent, offers a promising alternative to conventional methods─combining environmental benefits and renewable energy utilization with precise control over reaction selectivity. In recent years, these advantages have been successfully leveraged in a growing number of C(sp 3 )–C(sp 3 ) bond-forming reactions. This perspective summarizes recent advances in the electrochemical reductive approach to such bond formations and offers a perspective on future directions for the field.
