The first two senates of the Federal Constitutional Court were staffed almost exclusively by anti-Nazis due to the efforts of Arndt and Zinn. This chapter of the project looks most closely at the biography of the first female justice of the Court, Erna Scheffler. Scheffler was removed from a position in the Prussian judiciary in 1934 as she was considered “half-Jewish.”
