Conclusion

This concluding chapter summarises some key points from the book, linking back to the introduction, and arguing for a more nuanced and geography-oriented approach to our understanding of ‘regions’. It then goes on to argue for the need to focus on ‘geopolitics in practice’, i.e. a subregional and practice-oriented approach which nevertheless also bears in mind region-building efforts. Finally, this chapter discusses the role of upholding the notion of an ‘Arctic’ political region.
