Having high-quality data on excretion-secretion products (ESPs) of Cochliomyia hominivorax are essential for advancing basic and applied research. Well-characterized ESP profiles support the discovery of diagnostic biomarkers, therapeutic targets, and novel control strategies against this myiasis of veterinary and human importance. We describe the protocol for maintaining larvae isolated from clinical cases, as well as the concentration and characterization of ESPs. Standardized datasets and scientific rigor ultimately contribute to better surveillance, prevention, and management of screwworm infestations.
