Allograft Beating for a Century: An Update on the Oldest Surviving Donor Heart: A Case Report.

Heart transplantation for patients with end-stage heart failure remains the gold standard for definitive treatment. We present an updated case from a 2017 publication regarding a now 100-year-old donor heart in a 63-year-old recipient. Despite the advanced age of the organ, the patient today is doing remarkably well, and to the best of our knowledge, this is remains the "oldest surviving donor heat" on record. We also discuss recent evidence regarding older donor heart transplantation.
