This study develops an innovative municipal index to measure social well-being in Mexico by integrating the Human Development Index (HDI) and Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). A quantitative approach focuses on critical variables like life expectancy, educational attainment, per capita income, and social and health deprivation. The methodology incorporates a longitudinal analysis for 2010, 2015, and 2020, enabling temporal trend observation and identifying changes in municipal well-being. The results provide a replicable measure of social well-being based on secondary data, offering policymakers a diagnostic tool at the local level for assessing program effectiveness. This model allows for identifying improvement or stagnation patterns, thereby facilitating evidence-based decision-making and the design of interventions that can be replicated in other areas with similar characteristics.
