Suture-mediated vascular closure for iatrogenic femoral artery pseudoaneurysms: a multicenter experience.

This multicenter retrospective case series evaluated ultrasound-guided suture-mediated vascular closure for selected iatrogenic femoral artery pseudoaneurysms. Sixteen consecutive patients treated at three tertiary referral hospitals between August 2021 and June 2026 were included. Pseudoaneurysms involved the common femoral artery in 9 patients, the superficial femoral artery in 6, and the deep femoral artery in 1; 5 were multilobulated, 4 followed 12-14-Fr access, and 2 had failed prior thrombin injection. A Perclose ProGlide or ProStyle device was deployed under real-time ultrasonographic guidance without angiography or iodinated contrast. Technical success was achieved in all patients. During a median follow-up of 498.5 days, no recurrence, reintervention, surgery, or procedure-related complication occurred. Ultrasound-guided suture-mediated closure may be a feasible contrast-sparing option for carefully selected femoral pseudoaneurysms when conventional treatment is unsuitable or has failed.
