We read with great interest the recent article by Hori et al., entitled “Superficial temporal artery dilation and the risk of transient neurological events after revascularization for moyamoya disease: Impact of preoperative PCA stenosis,” published in the Journal of Clinical Neuroscience [1]. The authors demonstrated that preoperative posterior cerebral artery (PCA) stenosis was significantly associated with marked postoperative superficial temporal artery (STA) enlargement after STA–middle cerebral artery (MCA) bypass, and that greater STA dilation was associated with postoperative transient neurological events (TNEs).
