Updates on the checklist of native vascular plants of Mongolia

The latest checklist for Mongolian native vascular plants was published in 2022. The checklist contained 3,041 taxa from 653 genera and 111 families. However, several taxa that had been previously recorded in the country were missed. In addition, 19 new taxa and 25 new records were described from Mongolia based on morphological and molecular evidence in recent years, while 86 taxa were excluded from the Flora of Mongolia because they were erroneously included in Mongolia based only on literature. Therefore, in this study, we updated the checklist for native plants. A total of 3,087 taxa from 652 genera and 111 families, including 2,912 species, 119 subspecies, 36 varieties, and 20 nothospecies, have been identified in Mongolia, so far. Furthermore, we updated the list of 129 endemic and 311 subendemic species. A complete checklist of native plants, including the status of endemism, the distribution of phytogeographical regions, and representative references, is provided.
