Mitral Valve Malignant Glomus Tumor Presenting With Multiple Embolic Events.

CASE SUMMARY: We report a case of a malignant glomus tumor involving the mitral valve, resulting in repeat presentations with arterial embolic events including non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and stroke. This is the third existing case report of an intracardiac malignant glomus tumor and highlights the need for a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and management of cardiac tumors. TAKE-HOME MESSAGES: Glomus tumors are extremely rare, and even less commonly malignant. They can involve cardiac structures and pose risk for embolic events. Patients with cardiac glomus tumors should be evaluated rapidly by a multidisciplinary cardio-oncology team and receive prompt referral for consideration of surgical resection.
