Perioperative antibiotic prescribing in dermatologic surgery remains highly variable and frequently extends beyond evidence-based indications despite the low incidence of surgical site infections. This 2-part continuing medical education article synthesizes current evidence to guide perioperative antibiotic decision-making. Part II focuses on antimicrobial stewardship, emphasizing practical strategies to improve prescribing and reduce unnecessary antibiotic use. Special attention is given to optimization of perioperative practices, patient-centered communication, and system-level stewardship interventions.
