The findings offer evidence-based insights into how nursing students can leverage AI to navigate rapidly changing nursing education and healthcare environments worldwide.
BACKGROUND: Global nursing courses are rapidly attempting to utilise large language models (LLMs), and generative AI such as ChatGPT now traverses the traditional classroom-clinical divide.
METHODS: This study conducted a qualitative descriptive investigation to explore nursing students' specific experiences and transformations in AI-based learning.
RESULTS: Four interrelated themes were identified: AI-Driven Transformation of Nursing Students' Learning Behaviour Patterns; Emotional-Cognitive Shifts in Nursing Students Through AI-Based Learning; Self-Directed Learning Outcomes in Nursing Students Using AI-Based Learning and Adaptive Challenges.
CONCLUSIONS: The findings offer evidence-based insights into how nursing students can leverage AI to navigate rapidly changing nursing education and healthcare environments worldwide.
