Adoption effect of seamless care in the nursing of patients with chronic renal insufficiency.

BACKGROUND: Seamless care (SC) nursing, as an innovative nursing model, has gradually attracted attention in recent years. The purpose of this study is to explore the application effect of seamless nursing in the care of patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) and to preliminarily analyze its potential mechanism. METHODS: A retrospective analysis was implemented on 94 patients with CRI who visited our hospital from January 2023 to January 2024. Patients were rolled into regular group (n = 42) and SC group (n = 42) according to the nursing method. Data including patients' quality of life (QoL), compliance, renal function indicators, incidence of complications, satisfaction, and self-management ability were collected. RESULTS: The QoL Instrument for Chronic Diseases-Chronic Renal Failure (QLICD-CRF) scores, self-management ability, compliance rate, and nursing satisfaction of CRI patients in SC group were markedly superior to those in regular group (P < 0.05). Additionally, the enhancement in blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (Scr), endogenous creatinine clearance rate (Ccr), and serum uric acid (UA) levels in SC group was superior to that in regular group (P < 0.05). Moreover, the incidence of complications in SC group was dramatically inferior to that in regular group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: SC in the management of CRI patients can notably enhance patients' QoL and compliance, while reducing the incidence of complications. These results support the promotion of SC models in the nursing practice of CRI patients to enhance overall health status and QoL.
