Verdonckt et al.1 characterize B cell receptor repertoires after dengue virus 1 challenge and observe atypical primary responses enriched for polyreactive and public, near-germline memory B cell sequences containing dengue-associated motifs that could represent an inherent constraint of dengue immunobiology.
