Leroy Penfield Faber, MD recently passed at the age of 97 years old. He was a master educator, an early proponent of multidisciplinary cancer care, and instrumental in developing flexile bronchoscopy, stapled bronchial closure, and segmental lung resections for cancer. Dr. Faber leaves behind a specialty that bears his imprint at many levels: in its culture, its standards, its leadership, and in the surgeons he trained.
