• Experimental evaluation of a north-facing Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) window in João Pessoa, Brazil, using hourly data from April to September 2024. • Electrical power output exceeded 90 W during periods of high solar irradiance, despite the vertical façade orientation. • Surface thermal gradients intensified between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., with excess heat predominantly dissipated toward the exterior. • The BIPV façade exhibited lower Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) values compared to conventional glazed windows. • Results demonstrate the dual role of BIPV windows as energy-generating and solar heat-mitigating elements of the building envelope in humid tropical climates.
