Honeycomb composites have attracted much attention due to their excellent mechanical-physical properties. In order to obtain excellent acoustic-thermal properties, a novel honeycomb-embedded glass fiber/silica aerogel composites (HGSs) are reported, the comprehensive performance of HGSs is improved by designing a hierarchical network in cellular cells. The optimum longitudinal, transverse tensile and breaking strength of HGSs are 0.90 MPa, 0.30 MPa and 139 N, respectively. Process optimization yields a 5 dB improvement in the sound insulation of HGSs. The maximum sound transmission loss (STL) and noise reduction coefficient (NRC) are 27dB and 0.369, respectively. In addition, HGS has excellent thermal stability and insulation properties, with a thermal conductivity of 0.0593 W m -1 k -1 , making it ideal for sound and thermal insulation applications.
