CUDERMA project: Delphi consensus on quality indicators for certification of dermatology units providing care for hidradenitis suppurativa.

OBJECTIVE: The AEDV CUDERMA project aims to certify dermatology units to standardize clinical practice and ensure quality of care. In line with previous initiatives in psoriasis and dermato-oncology, this study aimed to reach consensus on the aspects to be assessed through quality indicators for the certification of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) units. METHODS: A literature review and a focus group involving dermatologists specializing in the management of patients with HS were conducted to develop a preliminary set of quality indicators, which were subsequently reviewed by a multidisciplinary group of experts. The relevance of these preliminary indicators was then evaluated by a Delphi panel comprising 43 members of the Spanish Hidradenitis Suppurativa Working Group. RESULTS: The Delphi panel reached consensus on the inclusion of 52 quality indicators. CONCLUSION: These indicators will subsequently be standardized for the development of the certification standard for HS units.
