Servant leadership, job commitment, and resource satisfaction as predictors of teachers' quality of work life in Peruvian basic education

The quality of teachers' work lives is directly important to regular basic education institutions' teaching and educational quality. This research aimed to determine if servant leadership, job commitment, and satisfaction with work resources significantly explain the quality of work life of Peruvian regular basic education teachers. A cross-sectional associative-predictive design was employed, and data were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The questionnaires applied were Satisfaction with work resources, Servant leadership, job commitment, and Quality of work life. The findings indicate that satisfaction with work resources and servant leadership are positively associated with quality of work life, whereas job commitment shows a negative relationship when it becomes excessive. These results suggest that adequate organizational resources and people-centered leadership styles enhance teachers' well-being, while unmanaged or overly demanding commitment may undermine it. It is concluded that servant leadership, job commitment, and satisfaction with work resources predict the quality of the work life of regular basic education teachers. However, their effects vary in magnitude and direction.
