Teaching Craft Intelligence: Sovereignty Protocols for AI-Mediated Student Leadership.

Artificial intelligence (AI) now mediates how student leaders learn and decide, creating a speed imperative that often rewards algorithmic fluency over human judgment and intercultural accountability. This article argues student leadership programs can turn AI from a plagiarism risk into a laboratory for craft intelligence (transforming knowledge and lived experience into sound judgment in action) and deliberate stewardship, which safeguards how knowledge is created, tested, and shared. It maps four perils (e.g., inquiry collapse, context erasure, algorithmic authority, and cultural narrowing) that introduces a Trace of Agency toolkit of four sovereignty protocols to make AI-assisted decisions transparent and leadership claims auditable.
