ABSTRACT A lack of access to basic needs is a concern for some college students, which can negatively impact retention, engagement, and overall success. To support these students, higher education administrators, staff, and faculty must find ways to work together across divisions to promote collaborative solutions. In this article, we discuss the history of academic and co‐curricular partnerships, describe a unique case study with examples of basic needs partnerships between academics and student affairs at one institution, and provide recommendations for collaboration.
