ABSTRACT This study reveals the dielectric relaxation behavior and electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMISE) of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF)‐polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites containing minimal loading levels of reduced graphene oxide (rGO). The ionic liquid (IL) is added for the better dispersion of rGO. The Raman analysis, morphological analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) are performed on the fabricated nanocomposites. The excellent dielectric properties of the fabricated conductive nanocomposites have been investigated throughout a broad spectrum of frequencies, ranging from 1 to 10 6 Hz, when subjected to the applied electric field. Excellent electromagnetic radiation (EMR) absorbing (SE A ) and moderate reflection (SE R ) efficiency of the nanocomposites have been analyzed from the EMISE study within the 8.2–12.4 GHz frequency range (X‐band). The SE A value for 70:30:0.25 composition is measured to be 45 dB, and with the addition of (IL), it is increased up to 49 dB. High SE A by the enormous internal reflections by the rGO and PANI phases, greatly improves the nanocomposites' EMISE. The nanocomposites with 0.25 wt% of rGO exhibit a maximum SE T of 61 dB, which corresponds to the blocking of more than 99.999% of the incident EMR. Moreover, the 70:30:0.25(IL) sample maintained >50 dB across 10.7–11.7 GHz with a bandwidth of 1.017 GHz.
