ABSTRACT In order to study the comprehensive properties of dual‐resin matrix carbon fiber reinforced composite laminates and improve the problem of difficult balance between strength and toughness of single resin matrix laminates, PA6 and PPS resin‐based prepregs were used to prepare carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic hybrid resin base laminates. The hot‐pressing process for fabricating laminates from prepregs with different resin matrices was investigated. The interfacial bonding mechanism between heterogeneous resin matrices was elucidated through multiple characterization techniques, and the effect of resin crystallization behavior on the mechanical properties of the laminates was further examined. The results show that temperature is the key factor influencing laminate consolidation during hot pressing. At 290°C, the laminate exhibits a maximum flexural strength of 1095.78 MPa. During consolidation, the different resin matrices penetrate each other, forming a mechanical interlocking structure upon curing and achieving strong integration through van der Waals forces. The introduction of heterogeneous matrices changes the crystallization behavior of the composite interface. By adjusting the heat treatment to achieve optimal resin crystallinity, the bending strength of the hybrid laminates increased by 6.2% compared with untreated laminates.
