A Case of Rheumatoid Arthritis Presenting With Airway Obstruction From Cricoarytenoid Arthritis.

Cricoarytenoid joint (CAJ) arthritis is a rare disease manifestation of autoimmune conditions. We present the case of a young female with severe, untreated rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who presented acutely with upper airway obstruction secondary to bilateral CAJ arthritis. We also explore the diagnostic challenges of atypical presentations of stridor and provide a focused review on the laryngeal manifestations of RA and management of CAJ arthritis.
