Scalp Cylindroma on Fine-Needle Aspiration Cytology: A Diagnostic Challenge.

Cylindroma is a rare benign cutaneous adnexal tumour that most commonly arises on the scalp. We report a case of a 65-year-old woman, presenting with a scalp nodule. Cytological examination revealed characteristic clusters of basaloid cells surrounded by thick hyaline basement membrane-like material, rendering an accurate diagnosis of cylindroma. The diagnosis was subsequently confirmed on histopathology. This case highlights the key cytomorphological features of cylindroma and underscores the importance of considering it in the differential diagnosis of basaloid tumours, thereby facilitating appropriate diagnosis and management.
