ABSTRACT We investigate the ability of IntegroPectin bioconjugates obtained via acoustic cavitation of lemon, red orange, and sweet orange industrial processing waste to inhibit the migratory features of Caco‐2 colon cancer and MCF‐7 breast cancer cells. All tested flavonoid‐pectin conjugates dissolved in aqueous phase substantially reduced cell migration of both tumor cell lines at 0.5 and 1.0 mg/mL concentration. Red orange and lemon IntegroPectin bioconjugates at 5 and 10 mg/mL load reduced cell viability for both cell lines. Adding to recent promising results against lung cancer, these outcomes support further investigation of citrus IntegroPectin bioconjugates for the treatment of cancer.
