This chapter covers ethical dilemmas caused by artificial intelligence (AI) misinformation, including issues of authenticity and intellectual property, data security and privacy, fairness and bias, accountability and transparency, and job displacement alongside human autonomy. It highlights various impacts of AI misinformation, such as data abuse, supply chain disruption, supply chain poisoning risks, third-party vulnerabilities and lack of public confidence in democratic institutions and public health initiatives. The chapter emphasizes that social engineering and security risks are the primary causes of supply chain poisoning risks in the era of AI misinformation. The possible effects of supply chain disruption due to AI misinformation include demand risks, security risks, algorithmic bias and fairness, and a lack of transparency and accountability. The chapter discusses various strategies to mitigate the impact of AI misinformation. It highlights the importance of collaboration between AI developers and cybersecurity professionals to maintain data integrity across the network and prevent threats.
