原始摘要(英文原文)· Original abstract
The sustainable solution to complicated human problems may lie in biomimicry, an interdisciplinary design strategy that draws inspiration from nature. This study delves into the history, ideas, and practical uses of biomimicry in a range of disciplines, including robotics, architecture, and civil engineering. It takes a look at the beginnings of the field in the middle of the 20th century and how it has developed into a potent instrument for environmentally friendly design and new ideas by drawing inspiration from biological systems and processes. Velcro, which takes design cues from burrs, and self-cleaning surfaces, which mirror the look of lotus leaves, are only two examples of the useful applications of biomimicry. Concerns about sustainability, intellectual property, and the possibility of unexpected repercussions are some of the ethical issues raised by biomimicry in this research. Also discussed are the ways in which biomimetic research can benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration and how biomimetic designs might be optimized with the help of artificial intelligence. Emerging innovations in improved materials, water management, and robotics are the primary foci as we contemplate the future of biomimicry. In order to fully utilize nature-inspired solutions for global problems, this study emphasizes the significance of biomimicry as a paradigm for sustainable design and urges for ongoing multidisciplinary efforts.
