Metastatic Prostate Adenocarcinoma Presenting as Acute Quadriplegia: A Diagnostic Pitfall.

Prostate carcinoma is the second most common malignancy affecting men worldwide. Although spinal metastasis is well recognized in advanced disease, spinal cord compression as the initial manifestation of prostate cancer is uncommon. Acute onset quadriplegia due to cervical spinal involvement as the first clinical manifestation of prostate carcinoma in elderly males is a rare and sparsely documented occurrence. This case report highlights an unusual and under-recognized presentation of metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma, emphasizing the need for heightened clinical suspicion, focusing on the importance of early recognition of warning symptoms and prompt diagnostic evaluation to optimize disease-related morbidity and mortality.
