FDA Approves First Oral PCSK9 Inhibitor to Lower LDL Cholesterol

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the first oral protein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitor to reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. PCSK9 inhibitors have previously been available only as injectable therapies.
